Barbara Cofer Stoefen’s intimate memoir of her all-American Norman Rockwell family turned upside down by her daughter’s descent into meth addiction and crime. Bright and beautiful, Annie is an unlikely candidate for meth. Living hard and fast on the streets of Bend, Oregon, she commits crimes against herself, the community, and her own family. This is Barbara’s story of her despairing loss and impossible choices. It is also the revelation of a journey where both love and faith are tested, and ultimately redefined.
St. Charles Health System invites cancer survivors, friends, family and community members to a grand opening celebration of the new St. Charles Cancer Center. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m., Aug. 14 with a short recognition program followed by a ribbon cutting. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility, hear from survivors and supporters of the project and enjoy refreshments in the new healing garden.
