Blazers Lose In Finale

NBA:

The Trail Blazers lost to the Kings yesterday in the season finale. Portland sat most of their usual starters resulting in the lop-sided 121 to 82 loss. Delano Banton led the team with 17 points. Duop Reath scored 14 points in 24 minutes. He’ll definitely be a bright spot for the Blazers to look back on during this rebuilding year that saw a lot of 1st and 2nd year players get the majority of the minutes on a team that suffered more injuries than most. The Trail Blazers finish tied with the 3rd worst record. There will be a draw between them and Charlotte for who has better odds in getting into the NBA draft lottery. Portland will have many player and coaching personnel decisions this offseason.

The Mariners lost yesterday’s rubber match with the Cubs going down 3 to 2. Luis Castillo took the loss. He’s now 0 and 4 to start. Seattle has a visit from the Reds to start a three game series tonight. First pitch is at 6:40.

The Giants’ Blake Snell was roughed up by his former team giving up 7 runs in four innings and San Francisco lost 9 to 4 to the Rays. They’ll stay in Florida heading to Miami for a three game series. First pitch against the Marlins is at 3:40

18th ranked Oregon got the series with wins Friday and Saturday but USC kept the brooms away yesterday scoring 4 runs after the Ducks took an early 2 - nothing lead.

Number 4 Oregon State won their series against Stanford but couldn’t get the sweep either, losing 11 to 10 yesterday.
