(Portland, OR) -- After about ten months of intense negotiations, a new contract for Portland public school teachers is official. The School Board was unanimous in its approval of the pact, which was ratified last week by a majority of members of the Portland Association of Teachers. The three-year contract contains a two-point-three-percent yearly pay raise, reduced class sizes, and reduced workload for teachers.
