Prineville Soldiers Welcomed Home

SALEM, OR -- About 180 Oregon soldiers, including a platoon-sized detachment from Prineville, were welcomed home from deployment at a Salem ceremony this weekend.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and other officials, along with families, attended a demobilization ceremony for the 234th engineer company, Saturday afternoon.

The company mobilized on June 8 of last year to Fort Bliss, Texas, and spent about nine months conducting several construction missions at military facilities throughout Kuwait. The company also supported housing needs in Kuwait toward the end of their deployment.
