Forum Tonight (Monday) for Wilhelm and Buehler

If you want to see Knute Buehler and Craig Wilhelm respond to issues ... that will be happening this (Monday) evening.

The two candidates for Jason Conger's current seat will participate in a forum hosted by the Oregon League of Women Voters.

Kim Smith with the league expects about 50 people to show up.

Audience questions will be gathered, and asked.

Walden in Bend

U.S. Representative for Oregon Greg Walden visited a number of places in Central Oregon today (Monday), including Bend.

The representative hosted a "Walden for Congress Victory Rally" in the early afternoon, which over 80 people attended.

He said his main differences with Democrat challenger Aelea Christofferson had to do with issues surrounding Cover Oregon.

"She was on the board, was on the board since its inception, was responsibile for what went on there," Walden said. "Yet she didn't wnat the audit that Senator Wyden and Senator Merkley called for, the Government Accountability Office, to figure out what went wrong. She was opposed to that."

In March, Christofferson told The Oregonian that she thought instead of pushing for a federal investigation of Cover Oreon, Walden should have helped get the website running to deal with the large spread of Oregonians needing coverage.

The district's state senator, Tim Knopp, introduced Walden.

Redmond Mayor George Endicott and incumbent Deschutes County Commissioner Tony DeBone were also present.
