Police responded early this morning (Wed) to a report of a burglary at the Red Carpet Carwash on SE 3rd St. The front window of the business was broken. Police dog, DJANGO, was deployed and Derek Schaffer, 21, of Bend was subdued and arrested. In the course of the arrest, Schaffer attempted to injure DJANGO by kicking him. Schaffer is lodged in the Deschutes County Jail charged with numerous offenses.
