Barack and Bill Visit Central Oregon

Posted on Monday, May 12, 2008 (PST)

Summit High School is packed with Central Oregonians who turn out to see Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama. His Saturday town-hall meeting drew 2,000 people. Obama used PV Powered as a backdrop in saying he would like to pour $150-billion over the next ten years into renewable energy.

250 Central Oregonians turn out to hear former president Bill Clinton stump for wife, Hillary, for the Democratic nomination for president. He says she is the best candidate to fix the nation’s health-care system and put America back to work. Clinton says the nation’s challenges are to restore economic growth by rebuilding the middle class, as well as getting the country out of the Iraq war. Bill Clinton spoke yesterday at a middle school in Redmond.
