With winter-like conditions still hanging around Oregon, ODOT is extending the date to have the studded tires off your car. You now have until April 5th to get the tires off, after that, you are looking at a $143 dollar fine if caught. ODOT says studded tires cause about $40-million dollars in damages to Oregon roads and they only have about an $11-million dollar budget for repairs. They encourage you to consider an alternative to the road damaging studded tires for traction next winter and you can log on to their website for suggestions.
