Train Derailment

Posted on Friday, February 15, 2008 (PST)

The train tracks are clear through Redmond after a tank car carrying some 28,000 gallons of liquefied petroleum gas derails early this morning at Antler and Canal. Redmond Fire and Rescue says the tank did not leak and it was not necessary to evacuate the area. Burlington Northern crews had the derailed car back on the tracks by about ten o’clock this morning following the midnight derailment. No word what caused the tank car to jump the tracks.
